Job Description
As a Patient Engagement Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in helping patients take the first step toward better lung health. You'll connect with referred patients, build trust, and clearly explain how Kivo Health's virtual pulmonary rehabilitation program works - guiding them toward enrollment with confidence and care.
In this role, you will engage directly with patients to introduce Kivo's 9-week virtual pulmonary rehab program, walk them through the enrollment process, and speak knowledgeably about co-pays and potential costs. You'll help patients fully understand the program's clinical benefits and support them through a smooth, seamless enrollment experience.
The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who thrives on turning hesitation into interest and is genuinely motivated by helping patients improve their quality of life. You'll blend consultative selling with empathy, making sure every patient feels heard, informed, and supported from first conversation to enrollment.
Success in this role is measured by your ability to engage patients and convert conversations into enrollment interest. Key performance metrics include outreach volume, the percentage of patients who express interest after an outreach call, and your effectiveness at communicating the value of Kivo Health's program while delivering an outstanding patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a high volume (100+) of outbound phone calls to patients referred to Kivo Health.
- Build rapport with patients and educate them about Kivo Health's virtual pulmonary rehabilitation program.
- Clearly communicate the benefits of the program and how it can improve patients' health, independence, and quality of life.
- Address patient questions and concerns with confidence, empathy, and professionalism.
- Effectively overcome objections and encourage patients to enroll by tailoring conversations to each individual's needs and goals.
- Guide patients through the enrollment process and ensure they understand next steps.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and enrollment activities.
- Collaborate with providers, clinicians, and internal teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Help with other patient enrollment responsibilities and operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales, patient outreach, customer success, patient access, healthcare navigation, or another role involving persuasive communication.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly over the phone.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls each day.
- Strong active listening skills with the ability to identify patient concerns and respond thoughtfully.
- Positive, resilient, and motivated by helping people while achieving enrollment goals.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accurate documentation.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred but not required.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a mission-driven company focused on improving patient care.
- Help patients improve their health and quality of life through an innovative virtual care model.
- Work with a passionate, supportive, and collaborative team that celebrates wins together.
- Make a meaningful impact as part of an early team, with direct input in shaping patient outreach strategies and enrollment processes.
- Opportunities for growth within the organization.
